a۬Rock music has its roots in the era of rock and roll
and rockabilly of the 1950s. In the mid-1960s, rock
music was combined with folk music to create folk
rock, with embolus to create blues
rock and jazz to create jazz-rock fusion, and
without a time stamp to create psychedelic rock. In the
1970s, rock incorporated influences from soul, funk, and Latin
music. Also in the 1970s, rock developed a number of subgenres,
such as soft rock, hard rock, progressive rock, heavy metal and
punk. The subgenres of rock of the 1980include
the new wave, new romantic, glam rock, synth-pop,
hardcore punk, alternative rock, thrash metal and speed
metal. The subgenres of rock of the
1990 includeelgrunge, Britpop, indie rock,

Elvis Presley.a€¨♣ 1954, an unknown young man
named Elvis Presley recorded the song That's All Right
Mama, which according to Rolling Stone is the first
song of rock and roll history, Elvis did
not initially reach a large audience. It was in 1956
when Elvis phenomenon beginsand with it the phenomenon
of rock and roll, pelvic movements, dancing, good
looks and versatile voice, do get Elvis to the top of

Iron Butterfly or elhippismo pop rock influenced
by TheMamas and The Papas and Association. In the United Kingdom is
assimilated by theBritish Invasion groups, led
by losBeatles and Revolver, Sgt Pepper's Lonely theirHearts Club Band and Magical
Mystery Tour (among others). The Rolling Stones withTheir
Satanic Majesties Request, also raises
other very innovative bands like PinkFloyd, Traffic,
Jethro Tull or Soft Machine later would lead

1970sa€¨♣ Wave of hard rock and
Grand Funk Railroad norteamericano.Mountain create a
new style and are pioneers of hard rock and American heavy
metal. Aerosmith jump to fame,with a
rare blend of hard
rock with funky rhythms. Parallel groups arise comoKiss, CheapTrick
and Ted Nugent, born in Australia AC / DC and Thin
Lizzy in Ireland,
while in England emerge Motörhead,
who impose a higher speed riffs, anticipating

1990sa€¨♣ Second Wave of black metal along the

of metalcore and deathcore, with bands like As I
Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage
and Shadows Fall as leading exponents. Late 1990
and early 2000's.a€¨♣ Following
the merger between the sexes that occurred in the 1990s,
the rock returns to its most basic concept in 2000
as garage rock or garage rock revival,
influenced andalternative approach, with groups like
The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The WhiteStripes,
The Libertines, The Vines, The Hives, Kings of
Leon, BRMC, etc.
